About Purslow’s Gascony
Ian Purslow, who founded Purslow’s Gascony, first acquired a taste for living abroad when he served a short service commission on the continent. He now specialises in selling fine country houses in Gascony, South West France, from his office near Mirande, 90 minute’s drive west of Toulouse.
On leaving the army in 1971, Ian moved to Andorra in the Pyrenees where he jointly set up a successful estate agency business. The company handled sales to expatriates from around the world and rapidly grew to become one of the leading property developers in the Principality.
Ten years later, Ian returned to the UK to continue working in overseas property and as a marketing consultant. In 1990 he moved to France with his wife Susan to set up home and business. They have two children who go to local schools. The family, who all speak fluent French, participate fully in the local community and Ian has become a French citizen.

In 2005 Ian obtained a full real estate licence for France as is a member of FNAIM, the French property trade association.

Aujourd'hui il est spécialisé dans la vente de maisons de campagne haut de gamme dans le Sud-Ouest de la France. Son bureau se trouve près de Mirande à 90 minutes à l'ouest de Toulouse.
En 1971, après avoir servi l'armée, Ian s'installe en Andorre où il ouvre avec son associé, une agence immobilière qui connaîtra un grand succès. Ils vendent des biens à des expatriés venant des quatre coins du monde. Rapidement l'affaire décolle et se place en tête du marché immobilier de la Principauté.
10 ans plus tard, Ian retourne au Royaume-Uni. Il exerce le métier d'agent immobilier pour des biens d'Outre-Manche et de consultant en marketing. En 1990 Ian et son épouse, Susan, s'installent en France pour y vivre et y travailler. Ils ont deux enfants qui suivent leur scolarité en France. Toute la famille parle couramment le français et participe activement à la vie locale. Ian vient d'obtenir la double nationalité.

Ian Purslow, oprichter van Purslow's Gascony, kreeg de smaak van wonen in het buitenland te pakken toen hij tijdens zijn legerdienst voor een korte periode op het Europese vasteland verbleef. Vandaag specialiseert hij zich in het verkopen van prachtige landhuizen in Gascogne, in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk. Zijn kantoor ligt vlakbij Mirande, anderhalf uur rijden ten westen van Toulouse.
Toen hij in 1971 het leger verliet, verhuisde Ian naar Andorra waar hij medeoprichter was van een succesvol vastgoedkantoor. Dit kantoor ontfermde zich over verkopen aan expats vanuit de hele wereld en werd al snel een van de belangrijkste vastgoedmaatschappijen in het prinsdom.
Tien jaar later keerde Ian terug naar de UK waar hij actief zou blijven in de buitenlandse vastgoedsector en als marketingconsultant. In 1990 verhuisde hij samen met zijn echtgenote Susan naar Frankrijk waar hij zowel zijn thuis als zijn kantoor vestigde. Ze hebben twee kinderen die beide aan plaatselijke scholen studeren. De familie, waarvan iedereen vlot Frans spreekt, is volledig geïntegreerd in de lokale gemeenschap en Ian verkreeg onlangs de dubbele nationaliteit.
